"稍多"的翻译一般是用more:
a little more than a hundredth of a millimeter.

个人感觉整句应译为——极快的刀片可以使机床上的刀片切下只有几丝厚的切屑，使用户得到良好的加工表面。借用ValleyViews 大侠的话For your reference only

a few在修饰可数名词时，名词需为复数。，按照大侠的翻译“几丝”是否说明了这个数据已经超过了百分之一。序数词分子超过了1，是否应该加“s“，但hundredth没有加“s“，我们该如何理解呢？大侠能否详细解释下吗？没有别的意思，只是想弄明白。

We use a little with singular uncountable nouns. We use a few with plural countable nouns:

Mary said nothing, but she drank some tea and ate a little bread.

We stayed a few days in Florence and visited the museums.
