BUSINESS EXPERIENCE: September 2006 to Present – Bill M. Lewis, PE, Engineering Consulting Position – Owner Worked on Consulting projects, involving Forensic investigating of Mining Truck accidents for customers in Canada, WY, and KY. Worked as Senior Analyst for Co. investigating and setting up proposals for Defense Contracts involving software and systems development, through U.S. government grant programs.. September 2005 to September 2006 – Liebherr Mining Equipment Co. Newport News VA Position – General Manager Engineering Administration Transition position to establishment of new Engineering management team, formed from internal resources. June 1995 to September 2005 – Liebherr Mining Equipment Co. Liebherr purchased Wiseda Ltd. June 1995, relocated company to Virginia, Jan 1997. Position – Vice President Engineering Supervised transition of Engineering to new location, built department to present strength of 45 persons. Initiated new Engineering tools (Pro-E, Dynamic modeling, Virtual proving Ground, Fatigue Analysis, improved FEA capability, etc.). During this period, three truck models were introduced, two new service tools, and iinternal Engineering test capability was initiated and staffed. Drawing structure was changed to comply with Liebherr standards, and new ERP Software was instituted. August 1991 to June 1995 – Wiseda Ltd, Baxter Springs Ks. Position - Vice President - Engineering Responsibilities & Accomplishments - Engineering Department included Product Design functions, Quality Assurance Department, and Technical Publications function. Responsible for supervision of 6 Engineers, 13 Technical and Clerical Personnel. Responsible for Development of new products and continued development of primary product. Completed and negotiated contract for four-phase development of Innovative Large Mining truck concept with large worldwide mining company. Project completed successfully with margins close to projection. Department provides support to After Sales Service Department, provides technical support to Sales Department, including Application Studeis, and technical response to bid responses. January 1986 to August 1991 - Wiseda Ltd Position - President Responsibilities & Accomplishments - Initiated Establishment of function based Organizational Structure Negotiated with Parent Company to improve and upgrade all company computer systems. Initiated and Implemented standard quote response process. Implemented and produced presentation materials for sales. Provided technical support for sales involving extensive travel worldwide. Responsible for first sale of Company’s equipment to a Western Australian mining company, negotiated contract for same. Initiated and supervised establishment of improved manufacturing processes to incorporate AWS D1.1 welding Processes and Quality Assurance Procedures, including documentation and traceability. Established Company operations in Western and Eastern Australia. Responsible for acquisition of 100,000 sq.ft. plant, relocation of facilities, acquisition of additional 40,000 sq. ft. facility. Implemented computer-based haulage studies programs. Modified vendor supplied software to improve accuracy and utilization. June 1978 to November 1981 - Reliance Electric Company - Tulsa, Oklahoma Position - Senior Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities & Accomplishments : Design of Wheel Motor for off-Highway Diesel Electric Vehicles. Supervision of Drafting, Layout Design, Sourcing, Vendor Selection. Also responsible for co-ordination With vendors during prototype manufacture, original field installation support. Involved in Set-up of new operation, establishment of drawing standards, numbering systems, etc. April 1977 to January 1978 - Braden-Goodbary Corporation - Tulsa, Oklahoma Position: Design Engineer Responsibilities & Accomplishments: Responsible for mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems design for two lines of two axle bottom dump coal haulers (130 ton and 170 ton). Performed redesign and stress analysis of hoppers and front suspension systems to improve production efficiencies and reduce cost of vehicles. Provided Engineering support to Purchasing department and did second sourcing for purchased parts. Worked with Quality department to develop inspection procedures for machined and fabricated parts. Worked with quality and production personnel to develop welding procedures for manufacture of structures using H.S.L.A. steels. Supervised two to four draftsmen. February 1976 to April 1977 - Kipps-Roberts Machine Works, Miami, Oklahoma 74354 Position: Engineer Responsibilities & Accomplishments: Set up drawing system for the manufacture of tire service trucks. Provided shop supervision and designed several new products. Redesigned truck bodies for ease of manufacture. Provided cut sheets, scheduling to truck fab shop. Provided engineering support to machine and assembly operations doing job shop work involved in manufacture of custom production equipment for tire manufacture. Supervised 10-15 production personnel. Reported to President. January 1974 to December 1975 - Goodbary Engineering Company Cardin, Oklahoma Position: Vice President, Manufacturing, Project Engineer, Mechanical Responsibilities & Accomplishments: Responsible for design and layout of structure and mechanical Systems for 130-ton, two-axle, bottom dump coal hauler, and designed structure for 60-ton mobile floor jack for mining equipment. Worked with production personnel developing procedures and methods of production. Established vendor contact for raw materials, identified and purchased vendor supplied mechanical items, and worked with outside manufacturers establishing specifications for braking systems and hydraulic cylinder requirements. May 1969 to December 1974 - Unit Rig & Equipment Company, Tulsa Oklahoma Position: Senior Design Engineer Responsibilities & Accomplishments: Was responsible for structural design of components for existing and new off-road equipment and had experience with hydraulic systems; extensive structural layout and component layout work; assisted vendors in developing specifications and design of vendor parts, field experience related to user problems; supervised four draftsmen; did structure and operating mechanism for trailer of 180-ton bottom dump coal hauler now manufactured by Company.
