6 x P: X0 c: @/ Q/ _' QDIN5482 is still used by many hydraulic equipment manufacturers. It was specifically designed to accommodate different bearing bore diameters and yet maintain maximum shaft strength. This is done by varying the addendum, sometimes quite drastically and also varying the whole depth. / W! t/ o" U& _
The main differences between the two are the cutting depths and cutters used. Sometimes you can interchange cutters between the two standards but more often than not the whole depths will not work out. Also, with DIN5480 one cutter will cut all the tooth numbers for any given pitch whereas with DIN5482 for some pitches you may need as many as 3 or 4 different cutters to cut a given number of teeth.3 [5 r1 y% }% }3 k& Y
DIN5480 is by far the more common of the two standards and it is recommended that it should be used for all new designs.- E2 s2 B7 i0 V
By the way you have quoted the spec you are using it is in fact for DIN5480. I checked DIN5482 and this data does not match up with it nor is there anything close. Is this the spec your supplier has given you or is it from the drawing? The only thing that抯 missing is the tolerance. ! Z5 Q6 f4 l n/ l; f
Can you post the tolerance data that the manufacturer was working to?& n$ m& a7 t3 A1 l: S1 o; O0 ]
